Well for those of you who don’t know, I am back! I have worked this week in at Nana's Pantry and it has been beautiful, your smiling faces, the amazing staff and  reacquainting my way around the shop. It truly felt like home walking in there and getting back in amongst the action. In saying this though, the shop is noticeably busier than when I left in March, which is a great thing! This means that the health message is getting around and more people are expanding their knowledge and experimenting with new and exciting products.

Whilst it has been great to be back in the shop, the main reason for my return (apart from returning to uni) is to help get the new project off the ground. Yep, THIS Wednesday the 24th of September, the Windmill at Bargara will be opening and ready to go! Darryl and Leisa have put so much work and love into this place, I just know it is going to be an amazing success!

Sunday just gone, we had a staff get together out there to try out some of the appliances, sample some of the food and generally having a good time together. Let me tell you from first hand experience, it is AWESOME! I have seen the menus’ and there is some really exciting food and drinks on there, different from your ‘run of the mill’ café food, with some traditional ones remaining, all be it with a Nana's twist! I was able to try the vegan bircher muesli and also a mushroom/tofu dish…..OMGosh! They were both BEAUTIFUL!  The chef Marlies is creating everything with love and care and I know you will be stoked with whatever you might try! Be adventurous, give everything a go, I know you wont be disappointed!

Some other super cool, exciting things going on there is that we are creating a number of vege and herb gardens and some fruit trees to use in your meals. As someone very much into sustainability and fresh produce, I think this is a top initiative! The coffee and gelato on offer will also be as good at the Windmill as you receive in at the Bundy store. In my opinion though, I think  one of the greatest things about the Windmill is the serenity. Being near the beach and surrounded by some newly created gardens, it is a great, relaxing vibe to just chill out and kick back. We are going to be open early in the mornings and late night every night (later Friday and Saturday nights) so there is plenty of time for you to get something where you might not have been able to previously.

So, on Sunday, I was like a little kid! I was on the coffee machine for a couple of  hours making some brews, chatting and just reflecting about how happy I am to have come back to be part of this new journey with the Nana's family and all you amazing customers. We all look forward to seeing your smiling faces from Wednesday and hope you enjoy your first of many experiences at the Windmill at Bargara….

Location – take the last right hand turn before the esplanade (See Street) and it is about 50-100m up on your left.
