Coriander

Coriander seeds are the dried, round seeds of the Coriandrum sativum plant, the same plant that produces fresh coriander leaves (also known as cilantro). These small, light-brown seeds have a warm, citrusy, and slightly nutty flavour, making them a popular spice in Indian, Middle Eastern, and Latin American cuisines. Often toasted to release their full aroma, coriander seeds are used in curries, spice rubs, pickling blends, and baking. When ground, coriander seeds become ground coriander, a fine powder with a milder, more uniform flavour that blends seamlessly into sauces, marinades, soups, and baked goods. Beyond their culinary uses, they are valued for their digestive benefits and anti-inflammatory properties.
